Confucius (Kong Qiu 孔丘; 551-479bc) was the most famous Chinese philosopher. Confucian / Confucianism 儒家 is the paragon of Chinese sages.

During 1974-5, the Criticize Lin, Kong, or known as Anti-Lin Biao (林彪, 1907-71), Anti-Confucius campaign was in full swing 批林批孔运动如火如荼.  三字经 The Three Character Classic, also translated as Trimetric Classic was also being criticized, making me believe that Kong wrote this. In fact, it was commonly attributed to Wang Yinglin (1223–96) 宋代人王应麟 in 13th century. How silly!
