Changde Dao (Lasting Morality Road) is one of the Five Great Avenues in Tianjin. The villa compound Zhaoxing 常德道照星别墅 is in the former British concession. It was built in 1937, named after my paternal granduncle.
The tiles on the two entrances from the street are paved with cement tiles made by Kailuan Mining Administration 开滦煤矿, which acquired the tile factory from Chee Hsin in 1932.
