黑神话: 悟空 Black Myth: Wukong

This is an action-role playing game published by Game Science in June 2024, based on the ancient Chinese novel Journey to the West, a story we all read repeatedly.

As soon as it is hit the market, it becomes an international best seller, due to Sweet Baby, a “narrative development and consultation studio based in Montreal” with global reach, a  Chinese social media post on  douyin (听资本故事 明商业思维 … 世界太需要中国了 黑神话: 悟空 事件火爆外网) claims. When the publisher Game Science released this game, they ran into Sweet Baby immediately, who collect protection fee asked for a payout …

According to this douyin post, Sweet Baby is a company that using political correctness to blackmail gaming companies and studios into paying them millions per project. If refuse, they’ll employe their social media might to ruin the project. Many companies/projects obliged because they don’t know how not to pay. Now this Chinese company is unafraid  of the big bad wolf. So, everyone is who had been bullied is rising up to support this Chinese company.

  1. why the princess has to be white … so this is racist … so the project changed the princess to …
  2. why the leading man only likes woman … this is discriminating … so it changed to he likes …
  3. norwagne
  4. Japan 日本战国时代  Warring States Period 1467-1603 … 黑人的武士 a black samurai?!?

… till they ran into Game Science from China. They asked for a few million and Wukong refused, citing this game is primary within China, for the Chinese audience. Refusing my blackmail? Unrelenting, Sweet Baby tried to smear Wukong on

  1. big on men … not fair to women – WK has no gender, it’s a anthropomorphic monkey
  2. not inclusive: the skin color – WK has no color bec it’s NOT a human
  3. cruelty to animals (stick to the ear) – WK isn’t an animal IGN (the gaming site that review games) on June 8
  4. religion … it’s incorrect  – WK is a budda ??
