I used at least three GE over the range microwave ovens since 1996. The Profile‘s pulling out handle is directly above the strongest burner of my four-burner gas range. Within two or three years, the bottom of the handle was breaking apart. A couple of weeks later, the top gave in too.
I’m restricted with the 30″ opening and color white preference, I went with GE Profile again. Knowing the design is terrible: a push in button should have been utilized.
The same sad story repeated again, and again.
The current one was purchased in the summer of 2021 in a rush. I didn’t see a Profile and just grabbed one.
Checking online at this writing, I see the Profile ovens have switched to push in button but many other models are still use the pulling handle.
